PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Washington County Commissioner Pam Treece is running for Washington County Chair in what’s expected to be a tight race against fellow commissioner Nafisa Fai.

Washington County is the home of Oregon’s “Silicon Forest,” a major economic driver for the rest of the state, with companies including Intel and Nike.

Commissioner Treece is a former head of the Westside Economic Alliance. She has also been a public school teacher and an executive at PacifiCorp. She joined the Washington County Board of Commissioners in 2019.

She joined Eye on Northwest Politics this week to discuss her decision to run for chair, the proliferation of data centers, and more.
