OPINION: Treece understands collaboration needed to address regional challenges
Through my work in the real estate industry, I see how closely our region’s economic health is tied to housing affordability, job opportunities and infrastructure.
Economic development is about more than attracting businesses; it’s about creating conditions where employers can thrive, good-paying jobs are created, families can find stable housing and communities can fund essential services residents rely on.
For nine years, Pam Treece led Westside Economic Alliance as its executive director, working at the intersection of business, local government and regional economic development. She understands that a strong local economy supports family-wage jobs and in turn, helps provide resources for public safety, roads, parks, libraries, behavioral health services and homelessness response.
In Washington County, housing, transportation, business growth and public services are all interconnected. Collaboration is important to addressing regional challenges and planning for future needs. Pam understands why these connections are essential as our communities grow and work to maintain a strong economy and quality of life for residents.
Please join me in supporting Pam Treece for Washington County chair this November.
