OPINION: Treece is right person to lead Washington County
A thriving region needs a strong economy, affordable housing, good-paying jobs and communities where people can put down roots and build a future.
Pam Treece’s background in economic development has given her the experience we need in a county chair. She’s worked with local businesses, government and community partners, giving her a unique understanding of how economic growth, employment opportunities and the needs of local communities are connected.
I had the opportunity to work with Pam when I served as chair of Community Participation Organization 7 and was able to witness her commitment to the community. What impressed me was her genuine care for the people she served. She took the time to listen, build relationships and understand the concerns of community members. Her dedication to the community and her ability to bring people together to find solutions is outstanding.
Housing availability, transportation and local businesses are all interconnected. Understanding how these influence one another is essential to developing practical solutions that support families, connect workers to jobs and help local businesses thrive.
I am confident that Pam is the right person to trust in leading us through decisions as our next Washington County chair.
