OPINION: Treece focuses on the fundamentals of government
I support Pam Treece because I believe our county needs experienced, pragmatic leadership focused on the fundamentals of local government: a strong economy, good-paying jobs, public safety, responsible budgeting, housing affordability and essential services.
Pam has served Washington County for years and has demonstrated a willingness to work with people across the political spectrum. Her background in economic development and her support from business, community and public safety leaders give me confidence that she understands the importance of maintaining the strong economic base that pays for the services our residents depend upon.
I am concerned about the increasingly ideological direction of local politics. Voters should pay close attention to the policies and organizations influencing candidates for this nonpartisan office.
Washington County needs leadership that can balance economic growth, environmental stewardship, housing, public safety and the needs of working families without losing sight of practical solutions. For those reasons, I support Pam Treece for Washington County chair and encourage voters to do the same.
