OPINION: Treece supports community engagement; vote her for chair

Hillsboro News Times

I support and encourage you to support Pam Treece to be the next Washington County Board of Commissioners chair.

Pam Treece is intelligent and thoughtful; so is Commissioner Nafisa Fai. But I believe because of Treece’s broader experience with business and budgeting, she will be able to more effectively produce positive changes within county government and for Washington County residents.

When my neighbors and I had concerns about a neighborhood issue, we contacted Pam Treece. She met with us and observed the conditions. She listened, asked relevant questions, provided information and resources to us, and followed up afterward. Her assistance was very helpful.

Pam Treece supported Washington County Citizen Participation Organizations, promoting improved communication between residents and local government. She consistently attended community meetings and encouraged and supported ways to increase community participation.

We need a board chair that will prioritize issues that are important to all residents of Washington County, will support genuine community engagement efforts, will welcome and listen to all constituents and will be open to making changes to programs and plans when appropriate. Vote for Pam Treece.
