OPINION: Treece’s experience, connections prepare her for Washington County chair

Hillsboro News Times

Having lived in Washington County for 30 years, I’ve seen how much our communities have grown and changed. Through it all, one thing remains clear: progress takes collaboration. Our rural and urban communities have different needs, and addressing challenges like housing, transportation, public safety and economic development requires listening and working together.

Pam Treece’s background in teaching, economic development and nearly eight years as a Washington County commissioner has given her insight into a range of community needs and perspectives. Throughout her career, she has listened to understand people’s concerns and worked with others to find practical solutions.

Consensus doesn’t mean everyone agrees. It means hearing different perspectives, finding common ground and working toward solutions that consider the broader community. As Washington County continues to grow, collaboration and thoughtful decision-making will remain important to addressing shared challenges, especially as we plan for the future.

Pam’s experience and connections have prepared her for this next step as Washington County chair. I’m confident in her abilities to continue serving our communities. Vote Pam Treece for Washington County chair!
